The Crowley Thoth Tarot Deluxe brings together the extraordinary artwork of Lady Frieda Harris with the occult teachings of Aleister Crowley in one of the most influential and distinctive Tarot decks ever created.
Created over five years between 1938 and 1943, the Thoth Tarot began when Lady Frieda Harris undertook the task of translating Crowley’s complex system of occult, astrological and esoteric symbolism into a remarkable series of paintings. The project became far more extensive than originally anticipated, with many of the cards painted in several versions before the final designs were agreed.
The result is a Tarot deck quite unlike any other. Rich in colour, symbolism and detail, the Thoth Tarot has become a classic and remains one of the world’s best-known Tarot systems alongside the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition.
This revised Crowley Thoth Tarot Deluxe is the authentic AGM Urania edition, imported directly from the publishers in Germany. The image data has been carefully revised and corrected to reproduce the colours and details of Lady Frieda Harris’s original paintings as faithfully as possible.
This Deluxe edition features 95 × 140 mm cards, allowing the detail and symbolism of Harris’s paintings to be appreciated beautifully. The accompanying booklet has also been revised and expanded and includes Aleister Crowley’s original interpretive texts.
