tarot reading 2

It’s perfectly acceptable to pull one single card from the pack to answer a question. I must admit that I don’t do this for clients because I need to give a deeper insight. I need to know what’s going on in their life, what obstacles are they facing to gain a deeper insight and help them. If I just pulled one card, it would be a quick and unsatisfactory reading for both of us.

However, the one card answer is perfect for our own personal guidance. I very often pull a card to see whether to take action, wait a while or get help from other sources if I have a major task at hand. In part, this is because I cheat when I read for myself and discard the cards I don’t want to read, I’m sure all readers do it too. That’s why we say that we can’t read for ourselves, because we cheat!

Having said that, many Tarot readers will shuffle the cards with the question in mind, cut the pack, turn the top pack upside down to reveal the card with our answer.  Below I have detailed a few variations to try.  P.S It’s also a great way to test your memory when you are learning the card meanings!

Guideline

  • Shuffle the Cards with your question in mind
  • Lay the cards face down on the surface
  • Run your hand over the cards until you FEEL that this is the right card
  • Turn your card to reveal the answer

Guideline

  • Shuffle the Cards with your question in mind
  • Lay the cards face down on the surface
  • Gently place your pendulum over each card with the instruction to find the correct answer for you

Having just blatantly advised against one-card selections for clients, I do offer them to choose a card if they would like one final confirmation that the cards are correct. It’s not a ritual, but I do offer it on occasion. The graphic below highlights how to do this:

Guideline

  • Conduct your reading as usual
  • Ask the client to select a small number of cards
  • Fan the cards in your hands
  • Ask the client to pick the card they are drawn toward
